E-BOOK AND HARD COPIES NOW AVAILABLE

I’m big on living a purposeful life, and in 2019 I decided that I would one day write a children’s book on passion, gifts, and purpose.  What started as an idea to help children to start thinking about the many gifts and career paths out in the world slowly turned into something even bigger – the idea to provide a guide for parents not only when it comes to the issue of gifts and purpose, but the holistic wellbeing of their children. With that, the idea for this book was born.

Launched on the 31st of March 2023, “The Parenting Handbook” is our gift to today and tomorrow’s parents, and their children!

May it be a treasure in your lives.

E-BOOK AND HARD COPIES NOW AVAILABLE!

From the moment my thesis was added to the Rhodes University library, I was determined to do something with it so it wouldn’t become another piece of academic writing accessed only by other academics. Or in the worst case scenario another thesis which sits “gathering dust”.

On the 23rd of July 2022 we (Akademi Institute of Research and Publishing) launched the book – “Married too Soon: Stories from our daughters”.

The book is a collection of short stories which speak of the challenges confronting “our daughters” in their everyday lives. Their stories are stories of strength and resilience, despair, longings for love, and the hope of brighter days.

These semi-fictional stories are based on case studies of real life experiences of Zimbabwean girls, captured as part of my PhD thesis.

The purpose of this book – for girls and their mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends and communities to think long and hard about the factors that result in child marriage being viewed as a viable option, and their role in addressing these.

MWANASIKANA MAGAZINE

Mwanasikana Magazine was birthed out of a desire to impact the lives of girls beyond my immediate reach. For the longest time  I have had the desire to be in high-schools, engaging, teaching, breaking cultural stereotypes and transforming minds, but that hasn’t happened yet. Mwanasikana Magazine is my way of reaching out into our schools and our homes. The first volume of this publication was released in commemoration of International Day of the Girl, which was celebrated on the 11th of October. The theme of International day of the Girl this year was “Our time is now – our rights, our future”.  With this theme in mind, this issue of Mwanasikana Magazine touches on topics that feed into girls’ rights to education, health, leisure, play and culture.
